A clear-cut definition of "nuclear medicine" seems to be a difficult task compared with deciding whether a given activity constitutes "nuclear medicine" or not. This difficulty might be the reason for the absence of a definition of the field from the volume under review. However, the field was staked out by means of carefully selecting both authors and topics.
The list of authors is an impressive one not only in terms of numbers (48) but also in terms of quality: several exceedingly well-known names are featured among them. That high discrimination was exercised is further emphasized by the foreword, which
