Since diagnostic errors represent a major shortcoming in general medical practice, any aid to accurate diagnosis should be welcome. This guidebook purports to afford such assistance. A large number of diseases and clinical findings are listed in a 42-page index on pink paper in the front of the book. From here the reader is directed to one of a hundred or more sections in the body of the book. The sections, arranged alphabetically, are discussions, one half to several pages in length, of topics ranging from abdominal pain through electrocardiograms and liver function to wheals.
