The Registry on Adverse Reactions sponsored by the Council on Drugs of the American Medical Association serves the primary function of alerting the profession to the potential for harm by drugs and other chemicals. An article on p. 1325 of this issue describes the procedures used for the handling, evaluation, and distribution of information on drug-associated reactions.
