During the 7 years that have elapsed since the first edition of this book, the art of intravascular catheterization has firmly become a science. The advances in angiography, techniques of left heart catheterization, cathetertip micromanometers, and indicator-recording electrodes during the past decade fully justify the 500 pages added to this text. Four new chapters have been added, and all but one of the remaining have been completely rewritten. In general, the material is inclusive and clearly presented.
