Thirty-seven papers, two only in summary—chiefly of two types: Background papers in medical science and practical, clinical papers. Of greatest interest to clinicians will be those on renal hypertension, clinical aspects of systemic lupus erythematosus, choice of antibiotics, the diagnosis and management of depression, small bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, pulmonary assessment and treatment, cardiac auscultation, treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, hormonal syndromes in bronchial carcinoma, and the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Four papers in genetics and one by Chain on research in antibiotics reflect currently important trends in research.
Not a thorough coverage of all areas of recent advance but useful though
