No greater praise can be given this third edition of Goodman and Gilman than that it lives up to the standards set by the previous editions, which established the book both as the outstanding treatise in its field and as one of the most influential medical publications of our time. The authors have again succeeded in presenting, in interesting, eminently readable form, an authoritative, scholarly, and sensible summary of the scientific basis of clinical therapeutics in 1965.
