Drs. Kaplan and Ford have produced a readable, well-referenced account of the embryology and anatomy of the cerebral vascular tree. However, this reviewer was greatly disappointed to find that the book contains no consideration of the physiology of the cerebral circulation. Instead, for reasons known only to the authors, they have devoted almost half their book to a consideration of the meninges, the physiology of the cerebral spinal fluid, and the blood brain barrier. Consequently, this book is a hybrid, with a misleading title.
