To the Editor: In his excellent article on a new acid-base nomogram, Dr. J. J. Cohen describes a method for freehand reproduction of the nomogram at the bedside (Ann. Intern. Med. 66: 159, 1967). He states (p. 163) that ". . . the isobar . . . of 24 mEq/liter . . . divides the figure into two equal halves that in turn are bisected by the isobars for 12 and 48 mEq/ liter, respectively."
Lest this convenience in construction be misunderstood by the unwary house officer or physician, it should be noted that the 12 and 48 mEq/liter isobars
