A survey of retrospective experiences and a review of the literature on cirrhosis and primary liver cell carcinoma are presented in this book. Unfortunately, few of the newer concepts of biochemical alterations that are responsible for lobular distortion in cirrhosis or carcinogenesis are presented. Information reviewed is available, in greater detail, in several recent synopses and monographs on the liver. The title emphasizes unusual manifestations of cirrhosis, but the authors do include a discussion of common features of this condition such as ascites, gastrointestinal bleeding, and mental changes.
