I admit that I began this book from a biased point of view and, further, that I have secretly gloated when studies have failed to show any better "learning" from programmed instruction than from the conventional methods.
I resented the repetitiousness of the text, the typographical errors, and the idiot-type clues for some of the "fill-ins" (f -, ad -, a -, v -, intended to "lead" me to flat, admixture, atrial, and ventricular).
The reproductions are superb, however, and I did enjoy "diagnosing" them and then comparing myself against the text, and I am glad I felt forced to
