This volume represents the proceedings of a symposium held at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. There were 22 participants who discussed the morphologic, cytochemical, cytogenetic, and immunologic aspects of so-called malignant transformations. Each speaker was followed by an invited discussant, and in those instances where the discussant took seriously his assigned task there was some hope at arriving at what really is the state of knowledge of the particular subject.
