Each edition of this book is larger and more complete than the previous one. The present fourth edition includes material on newly recognized syndromes such as focal dermal hypoplasia, subcutaneous nodular fat necrosis in pancreatitis, pseudosarcomatous fasciitis, clear-cell acanthoma, apocrine hydrocystoma, and balloon-cell nevus. A series of established diseases not previously included is also found in this edition; these diseases are cutis laxa, Hurler's syndrome, metastatic cutaneous carcinoid, cutaneous endometriosis, and multiple myeloma.
