I cannot remember the last medical book I raved about, most of them being dry as dust. Here is a simply marvelous exception, a book so full of wisdom about doctoring, of understanding of the doctor-patient relationship, of knowledge of the realities of primary care that it ought to be a best seller, read by every practicing physician. Further, it is small, well-written, and readily comprehensible.
To one who is engaged in a dialogue (polemic?) with the officers of The American College of Physicians regarding the training of a new cadre of primary-care physicians this book was especially welcome.
