Thirty-one French reviews of clinical and investigative topics in rheumatology and metabolic bone disease. The clinical problems discussed include inflammatory arthritides (unusual polyarthritides, disseminated lupus erythematosus, spondylitis, etc.), miscellaneous osteoarticular and connective tissue diseases (aseptic necrosis, drug-induced arthritis, chondrodystrophies, Dupuytren's contracture, etc., complications of corticosteroid treatment), surgery for rheumatological diseases, secondary gout, recent developments in parathyroid-calcitonin physiology, and renal osteodystrophy.
These papers are short, tightly organized, and well-documented. Citations are drawn mostly from the French literature, but English-language references are not excluded. An attractive balance of conceptual and practical discussions which should be useful to French-reading physicians with special interests
