Femoral nerve paralysis secondary to heparin hematoma in or on the iliacus muscle occurred in two patients. After consideration of the pertinent anatomy, clinical manifestations, and possible pathogenesis of this syndrome, it is suggested that the subcutaneous injection of heparin may contribute to its production.
