To the Editor: The recent article by Goodwin and Friedman, "The Effects of Renal Impairment, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Hemodialysis on Serum Sodium Colistimethate Levels" (Ann. Intern. Med. 68: 984, 1968) contains several statements with which we disagree. These are as follows:
 Goodwin and Friedman state that peak serum concentrations in our study (1) were higher than those obtained in 10 patients studied by Wright and Welch. However, Wright and Welch's data reveal that only 5 of their 10 subjects had peak level studies and that these were in the same range as ours, being 5.8 to 13.0 µg/ml (mean,
