It is wholly appropriate that two pediatricians write a specialized book on the subject of infectious disease in view of the major importance of this subject to pediatrics. This book is widely regarded as one of the basic pediatric texts, and it is fortunate that the authors continue to keep it current.
As in the previous edition, the most impressive advances and extensive changes are documented in the sections on viral diseases.
