One hundred twenty-two papers from the Seventh Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (Chicago, October 1967). The Conference opens with discussions on ethics and regulation of clinical investigation. The next group of papers presents pathological, bacteriological, and clinical aspects of certain infectious diseases. Smaller groups of papers focus on antibiotic synergism, antagonism, and modes of action. Three major sections contain papers on new and synthetic antibiotics, including nebramycin, monensin, U-12,241, LL-AB664, oxolinic acid, and furazolium chloride, and new penicillins and cephalosporins.
One section of special interest for the clinician is the panel discussion of optimal duration of antibiotic therapy
