German medical literature is best known by its voluminous, encyclopedic handbooks, unwieldy but complete with all available information, to be discerned for its importance by the critical reader. It is known less for its small "handy" primers that present clearly and precisely essential information as a guide to the inexperienced student or medical practitioner.
