The extremely ambitious title of this book might lead one to think the author is presenting new concepts regarding cause and prevention of cancer. However, anyone who knows how faithfully and diligently Dr. Cowdry has worked in the difficult field of carcinogenesis and who is familiar with his scientific achievements would expect to find a systematic compilation of scientific facts, but little definite solution to the problem.
His book is divided by the anatomical distribution of primary sites of malignancy, using the almost universally accepted International Classification of Disease. Detailed charts of the prevalence of these malignancies are documented by
