To the Editor: Reading some of the correspondence in the March 1969 issue of the ANNALS, I was struck with its liveliness. I believe that it is lively and interesting because it is controversial. I urge that the ANNALS continue this bent of presenting several sides to a subject, including the side of the underdog and the side of the student activist. The medical profession certainly needs to become aware of the real issues in life which ferment dissent in the young. Medicine and medical care by their very nature are also social disciplines and have at times radical implications
