To the Editor: In regard to the article on "Benign Left Bundle Branch Block" by Dr. Beach and co-workers (Ann. Intern. Med. 70: 269, 1969), I have recently had under my care a similar patient with at least a 15-year follow-up. This patient, a 54-year-old Air Force Colonel, has been known to have left bundle branch block for at least 15 years (since his first electrocardiogram). He has been evaluated several times, felt to be free of cardiac disease, and allowed to continue his military service.
In early April 1969 he noted the insidious onset of dyspnea and coughing that
