Readers of the Annals of Internal Medicine, largely internists, will be struck with the paucity of input by the clinician into this excellent volume. Nutrition has largely been appropriated by disciplines other than clinical medicine, for reasons that are not hard to find. Nutrition has become just as complex as the "strictly" medical sciences.
