To the editor: I am a physician currently stationed at Edgewood Arsenal, the Army's chemical warfare center. 1 wish to congratulate you on your courageous and forthright editorial on chemical and biological warfare in the July 1969 issue of the ANNALS. I would like to add a few comments.
Most physicians here feel that CBW research is unethical to one degree or another—most refuse to administer toxic agents to volunteers, as no humane purpose could possibly be served. A few feel differently: One researcher termed your editorial, "Well written and expressing familiar arguments," adding, "It is indeed regrettable for scientists
