Although the title ostensibly suggests that this book would be limited to aspects pertinent to physical medicine and arthritis, the editor has attempted to cover, in his words, "all other clinical considerations of joint disease which the thoughtful physician will want to consult." This is a large order, and despite 21 contributing authors who have written a collection of 20 essays this physician-reader does not believe the editor has fulfilled his promise.
In a 24-page preface Dr. Licht reviews the contents of his book and espouses his personal philosophy of treating the arthritic patient. His reason for writing this book
