The Italian tradition of careful personal observation of clinical and pathologic material began with Morgagni, and it is fitting that this book be based largely on patients observed over a period of years at his alma mater, the University of Bologna. As the authors lament, thus far the subject of their monograph has been treated in scattered case reports with an attempt to use a single method of classification.
Despite the title, the book opens with a useful review of vascular malformations and dysplasias in all the organs and tissues of the body followed by a chapter dealing with past
