The second edition of Dr. Valentine's book is a welcome addition to the library of the teacher who is continually asked by students and physicians to provide a concise treatment of cytogenetics. The book is truly a primer of cytogenetics and discusses the field in a brief and quite lucid manner. Occasionally, in his attempt to simplify, the author creates some misunderstanding.
