Previously described cases of gonococcal arthritis have been secondary to genitourinary tract foci. A male patient first seen with gonorrheal pharyngitis subsequently developed gonococcal septicemia and arthritis. This first reported case demonstrates the need to consider primary gonococcal infection at extragenital sites in the evaluation of patients with unexplained migratory polyarthritis.
