Dr. Irving Cooper has performed the useful task of organizing and summarizing his vast experience with involuntary movements and their surgical treatment. The chapter heading are "Hypertonus and Hyperkinesis of Parkinson's Disease," "Bilateral Thalamic Surgery in Parkinson's Disease," "Intention Tremor," "Dystonia," "Hemiballismus and Hemichorea," and "Surgical Treatment of the Dyskinesias." Included are many photographs of patients, pathological specimens, and roentgenographic studies and selected frames from cinematographs. Tracings from cinematographic records are numerous and are an interesting method of documenting the nature and severity of irregular movements and their changes with treatment.
