Thirty-nine papers (with discussions), the proceedings of a symposium held in May 1969 in honor of Dr. George H. Humphreys, II, and sponsored by Columbia University and the National Research Council. The papers are grouped by the main topics of blood or colloid replacement, water and electrolyte replacement, and high calorie solutions for parenteral feedings. Emphasis, as would be expected, is on hemorrhage and burn treatment.
Although most of the papers lean heavily on research interests and approaches, this collection will be a useful supplement in large clinical libraries to standard textbooks on the same subject for its presentation of
