The title is more imposing than the contents. "International" means the collaboration of British, Canadian, and American (United States) authors. The 17 contributors are men of impressive if not exceptionally qualified competence. Nine sections of the text cover the broad clinical aspects of medicine and surgery; eight sections relate some of the basic sciences to medical practice, review drugs in current use, and deal with treatment and laboratory tests.
