It is somewhat difficult to find a satisfactory label for this original and interesting work of a Swiss cardiologist from Zürich. The text is more detailed and extensive than a primer for the beginner but less comprehensive than a reference book for the specialist. In the class of standard textbooks on vectorcardiography or electrocardiography this newcomer would rank lower than many of the more seasoned and distinguished old-timers. The book or, perhaps more appropriately, the monograph, however, deserves to be singled out for the highly successful integration of the vectorcardiogram with the anatomical and hemodynamic studies in patients with heart
