To the editor: Frame, Foroozanfar, and Patton (Ann Intern Med 73:253-257, 1970) referred to a recent classification (1) of primary hyperparathyroidism without, however, applying it explicitly to their patient. The authors considered that the patient fell outside the two main groups, but it should be made clear that she is excluded from group 1 because she had no subperiosteal erosions or bone cysts radiologically and so did not have overt bone disease as defined for the purposes of this study.
