The first two chapters (46 pages) of this volume are the most readable and clear-cut review of the principles of absorbtion spectrophotometry in print, but the title of the book does not indicate the presence of this most valuable bonus.
Wavelength millimolar extinction coefficients and their wavelength curves are given for all the known hemoglobin derivatives. These are illustrated by graphs and tables, which serve as a ready reference for instrument settings for qualitating or quantitating any of these compounds. To any analyst these reference tables alone are worth the price of the book. There is a separate chapter covering
