One hundred and eighty-four black-and-white line drawings that illustrate a full range of the mammalian cell types in all organ and tissue systems. The quasi-diagrammatic representations are superior didactically in several ways to electron micrographs. Each drawing is faced by a descriptive legend, which includes explanation of the abbreviations on the drawings. A few figures are turned 90 deg counterclockwise from the usual position; these would have been just as legible if reduced and not turned. Detailed index. A finely printed, comprehensive atlas that will be valuable for teaching and reference.
