A few annual reports in medicine are readable and of sufficient impact to be worth reading by persons other than the minions of the issuing organization. The WHO report is one of these. Much of it is occupied with lists of projects and other organizational matters, but the first nine chapters give a wide but detailed panorama of transworld problems and progress in disease and health.
