In the preface the editors state that this atlas should serve as a reference guide in diagnostic problems and should stimulate the interests of experts in the field of laparoscopy to document findings on photographs.
This is an English translation of the original 1968 German work, Atlas der Laparoskopie. It contains 385 superb color photographs of intra-abdominal lesions as seen through the laparoscope. Appropriate X rays and liver scans are shown for better understanding. An introductory chapter on instrumentation and technique is somewhat sketchy, but the reference list is extensive.
