The British medical group that seems to have considered metrication most deliberately and extensively is the Working Party that was set up at a Conference of Medical Editors sponsored by the Royal Society of Medicine in 1968. They have published a statement of policy on metrication for British medical journals in their excellent guide to editorial style and usage:
Metrication and Medicine.. Ann Intern Med. 1972;76:339. doi: https://doi.org/10.7326/0003-4819-76-2-339_3
