To the editor: The conversion of ANNALS OF INTERNAL MEDICINE to metric measurement is a good step. You are in the vanguard of this good movement. I hope more medical journals follow your example. As physicians, with an obligation to teach—primarily by example—we should be in the front of metrication.
Use of Celsius by physicians is no problem of consequence; everybody wants to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius with a chart or scale but that's laborious and defeats metrication. We want people to think bilingually with regard to measurement. Use of Celsius for clinical medicine is simple if one remembers that
