The internist who wishes to keep up on developments in clinical nutrition can profitably consult this volume as a reference but will hardly find it a necessity for his library. It does not measure up to the previous volume of the series, which contained more material of special interest to the nutritionally oriented clinician. The review articles on world protein supplies and the effects of protein-calorie deficiency on mental development contain no new material, although the bibliographies in each will be helpful. A report of a national nutrition survey in Spain sniffers from being devoid of clinical and laboratory data
