Criteria for long-term care of patients born with cardiac defects have been published by the Congenital Heart Disease Study Group of the Inter-Society Commission for Heart Disease Resources (1, 2). An earlier report gives requirements for the acute care of these patients. They are two of a series of reports of different cardiovascular study groups that have appeared as appendixes in several issues of Circulation since May 1970.
