To the editor: I have read with interest Dr. Daniel's recent paper, "Smoker's Wrinkles," in the ANNALS OF INTERNAL MEDICINE (75:873-880, 1971).
My experience makes me share Dr. Daniel's belief in a possible relation between smoking and facial wrinkles. Whatever the causes of the association, this relation deserves further investigation for its prophylactic potential, considering that, human nature being what it is, fear of wrinkles may prove to be a stronger deterrent than fear of cancer to the smoker with self-induced tidal air pollution.
