To the editor: The recent article by Kronenberg and associates (1) in the Annals of Internal Medicine is a significant contribution to the diagnostic art of lung scanning. The experience at Coney Island Hospital, both before and after publication of the recent paper by Friedman and colleagues (2), does appear to differ with their findings. Indeed the differences are owing to the choice of subjects. The mean age of the Coney Island Hospital group is the upper age limit of the Kronenberg group, so that all of his patients are younger than our average patient. Inclusion of a 47-year-old in
