The expressed purpose of this book is to provide a comprehensive picture of gastrointestinal neoplasia, primarily for medical students, residents, and fellows. In view of the great frequency of these diseases and the multifaceted challenges that these patients present, such a text could prove a most valuable tool in medical education. A few sections, most notably those written by Drs. Eddy Palmer and Rene Joyuese, are very readable and well designed for the undergraduate or postgraduate student. Regrettably, the major part of this volume is poorly structured; and its value for either student or practicing physician is quite limited
