Snell's short student text offers an adequate selection of topics and indicates clearly but briefly their relevance to clinical problems; the diagrammatic illustrations are simple and effective; the bibliographic references include citations of especially useful articles in clinical journals.
Embryology for Surgeons is much more detailed, thoroughly illustrated, referenced, and expensive. Congenital anomalies and variants are described in detail, and discussion of clinical aspects, including diagnosis and treatment, makes this book an adequate reference source for clinical problems.
