Touch, Tickle and Pain is a two-volume autobiographic reminiscence of the distinguished Swedish physiologist, Professor Yngve Zotterman. Written in the first person, the author's story begins with his childhood and his education in Vadstena and Stockholm. His medical education was at the Karolinska Institute during the closing years of World War I. He then began his physiological studies in Lord Adrian's laboratory in 1920. During the ensuing years Zotterman's numerous scientific and social adventures are described warmly and in vivid detail in many places.
