A special issue of the journal Hamdard (July-September 1971) devoted to papers presented at a meeting organized for particular and detailed attention to the health problems of Pakistan and the difficulties of generating health consciousness and adequate methods in that nation. A number of short papers review very concisely health problems and services in a number of countries, ranging from some of the wealthy European countries to the poor nations. The third part of the symposium deals with problems of pollution, including misuse of drugs.
