It is always a great pleasure to review a new book, with the knowledge that it will soon become a classic of its genre. This creative work by Dr. Luisada, whose credentials in the field of cardiac auscultation and phonocardiography are impeccable, is such a book. Here is a book with something for everyone—medical student, house officer, cardiac trainee, practicing cardiologist, and, yes, even the directors of "noninvasive" laboratories.
In the sparest, most economical language Dr. Luisada has covered an enormous amount of material with clarity. The jargon of the auscultor-phonocardiographer is fully explained. There is a section on the
