. . . Maddrey and Boitnott's paper, "Isoniazid Hepatitis," in the July issue . . . does not prove or, at least, not make clear, that in Baltimore, where there is a high incidence of hepatitis, other factors did not play a part in the high mortality in their cases. This latter should be made very clear by further investigation of their associated health problems, if any.
Isoniazid is an extraordinarily valuable adjunct for our national program on the prevention and eradication of tuberculosis. Although its dangers should be documented, false association should not be assumed.
