Sixty-eight pages shorter and only $2.25 more expensive than the last edition, this ninth biennial compilation of expert opinions on drug therapy remains a unique and useful alternative to the encyclopedic pharmacology text, the disorganized therapeutic discussions in clinical texts, and the uncritical package stuffers composing the governmental-industrial Pretentious Deprecatory Reliquary.
The useful, well-written chapters, "Drugs for Children" and "Drugs for the Treatment of Poisoning," were omitted from this edition. Newly authored chapters, on cardiac drugs by Arthur C. DeGraff and on endocrine therapy by Melvin Horwith, are well organized and timely, but many will mourn the loss of Dr.
